children-press-tv

Children who have started the new school year in the besieged Gaza Strip are grappling with the trauma of the recent Israeli military offensive on the blockaded area.

Schools have opened their doors in the blockaded territory after a three-week delay due to the recent Israeli relentless and merciless aggression on Gaza. The children in the blockaded area who have survived the onslaught are in shock of the loss of their classmates and the extent of destruction in the area.

“I felt so bad when I saw my school destroyed. We used to study and play here. Nadia, my school mate, died [in the Israeli attacks] and we can’t play anymore,” a Palestinian school child told Press TV.
“This is our first day at school. It’s hard to describe the destruction,” another Palestinian child said.

“We were shocked when we heard about Nadia’s death. She was a remarkable student and very active,” Nemal Jedi, a Palestinian teacher, said.

The analyst also said that Israel now wants to “internalize” the fact that “this is our country exclusively including Gaza.”

Schoenman said Feiglin’s plan also included the total annihilation of Palestinian resistance fighters and supporters of Hamas movement so that Israel can “turn Gaza into Jaffa, an Israeli city, with a minimal number of hostile civilians.”

Palestine to sue Israel for war crimes

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad al-Malki is pushing for a war crimes case at the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israel due to the Zionist regime’s brutal aggression of the besieged Gaza Strip.

“Everything that has happened in the last 28 days is clear evidence of war crimes committed by Israel, amounting to crimes against humanity,” al- Malki told reporters after meeting prosecutors at the ICC on Tuesday.

“There is no difficulty for us to show or build the case. Evidence is there … Israel is in clear violation of international law,” he added.

Obama has authority to close Gitmo

An American political commentator says Barack Obama has the authority as the president of the United States to close the Guantanamo prison as he believes torture is bad.

“If the Obama administration feels that torture is not in line with US foreign policy, then it should close the Guantanamo Bay camp that is on occupied Cuban territory,” Editor of Pan-African News Wire Abayomi Azikiwe told Press TV on Sunday.

He made the remarks after President Obama acknowledged that the United States tortured some people after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks against the country.

Ashampoo_Snap_2014.08.03_19h36m35s_004_“I was very clear that in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, we did some things that were wrong,” Obama told reporters at the White House on Friday.

Written by Yochanan Gordon, who defended the move on his Twitter page, the article called for committing genocide against the Palestinian civilians in Gaza who have been under a massive Israeli assault in the last 25 days.

‘World needs opposition against Israel’

Press TV has conducted an interview with Gloria La Riva, ANSWER Coalition, from San Francisco, to discuss Israel’s ongoing aggression against the Palestinians.

What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Why do you think the West doesn’t condemn the Israeli killing of scores of Palestinian children? Literally, we have President Obama encouraging Israel in doing what it calls self-defense.

La Riva: The West, which is led by the United States, is really seeing itself as benefiting itself from the Israeli settler project, which is its police force inside the Middle East for the wealth, the geo-political strategic position of Israel to oppress the Palestinians and be the danger point for all Arab and the people of the Middle East.

It’s really, really terrible to see the children, the babies – I think that the bombing of the boys on the Gaza beach looked very deliberate because the Israeli government, the Israeli military has no concern about the children dying. Every time that they get their billions of dollars from the United States, Washington, the White House, all those Congress people who vote for every dollar of bombs, tear gas, all the terror weapons, they have blood on their hands as well.
